?When Moon Fell Down
by Lisa Smith
?When Moon Fell Down is a whimsical story written in poetic form. This is certain to become a bedtime classic! The moon falls out of the sky and spends the entire night painting the town with a friendly cow. The moon is seeing things on earth from a new perspective:
He?d never seen the trunks of trees
Or blades below the farmer?s plow
Moon didn?t know a horse had knees
But things were strangely sideways now.
The story, again, is written in poetic form. I find that it?s not dumbed down and, although it only tells of one special night, it qualifies as a living book because it does draw the reader into the night with this friendly pair. Even my 20-year-old daughter said, ?Awwwww? at the end of the story when it spoke of the cow and moon never forgetting their special night.
