South Korea's President-elect meets Chinese envoy

Chinese vice Foreign Minister Zhang Zhijun has met with South Korea's President-elect Park Geun-hye during his three-day visit to Seoul to deliver congratulatory letters on her election victory last month. Park expressed her gratitude to the Chinese leadership.

Parked added that she hopes to strengthen the trust and friendship with China. Words echoed by Zhang words as he read out a letter from China's incoming president, Xi Jinping.

Zhang also called for closer cooperation between South Korea, China and Japan as official trilateral free trade negotiations will soon get underway.
