payroll-extraordinaire-w-fun-personality-soma-south-beach

Hi there! I run a small accounting/tax firm and I?m looking to bring on some payroll help. Person should be super detail oriented and fun to work with. This is a full-time role, based in San Francisco. You?ll be able to work from home for several days a week, but we?ll probably want you to come into the office once or twice a week to go over the status of all our clients.

?? Job Description ??

This role will start part-time (25 hours a week) and will convert into a full-time role within 60 days.

We?re looking for a someone who loves administering payroll for small businesses. You?ll be responsible for helping a small business get set up on Paycycle (Intuit Payroll), answering the client?s payroll questions, and seeing that their new employees are added to payroll in a timely manner. Several times a month, you?ll be asked to help transfer a client from ADP/Paychex over onto Paycycle.

Your job will involve a lot of communicating with clients. You?ll be hustling on the phone and by email for a good chunk of the day!

?? Qualifications & Requirements ??

- Experience working face-to-face with customers.
- A love for learning.
- A fun attitude, quirky personality.
- The heart of a teacher. We need bookkeepers who are patient with clients and willing to teach.
- Awesome writing skills. You?re writing emails to clients so you?ll need to sound professional.

- Minimum 1 year experience with payroll and working with small business owners to process their payroll.
- Experience with ADP, Paychex, Paycycle

Optional, but very nice to have:
- experience working at an accounting or tax firm.
- degree in accounting and/or taxation.
- experience using QuickBooks.
- experience moving clients from ADP/Paychex over into other payroll systems.
- experience with setting up benefits (health/dental/vision) for businesses.
- experience administering 401k plans.

?? About the Company ??

We are a small accounting firm employing over a dozen people full-time and part-time. Our team works all around the country (and globe), spanning from Oklahoma to San Francisco to as far as Singapore!

?? How to Apply ??

Send me a quick email with a subject line called ?Payroll Extraordinaire from YOUR-CITY-NAME-HERE?. Email subject should have nothing more and nothing less. Email should contain:

1) a recent *fact* you learned and why you found it interesting. (preferably having nothing to do with work, family, or religion). Keep it to only one fact. Don?t write more than two sentences on this. The best facts are those that few people know about.

2) your single greatest work accomplishment. (make sure it has to do with real work. . . getting your college degree, getting admission into Harvard, or having children isn?t particularly impressive to us). Don?t write more than two sentences on this.

3) the most complicated thing you?ve had to do with payroll. Please include details on why it was so difficult to do, and what you would have done differently knowing what you know now. Don?t write more than five sentences on this.

4) your resume.

If we?re interested, we?ll get back to you within a few days to set up a phone call. Your email should be formatted in a 12pt sans serif font, which is the default if you?re sending emails out of Gmail. Keep the text black! (a pet peeve of mine is seeing emails with text of different sizes and different fonts!)

I know you?re probably asking yourself ?why should I bother jumping through all these hoops just to apply for a job?? The sad reality is that 90% of applicants won?t follow the directions listed, so I?ll be able to give you better consideration than everyone else. Thanks for reading!
